Capability 
Equipped with a team of well qualified R&D team, ASERDC has competence to take up design, development and certification of following systems and LRUs both for civil and military aircraft and helicopters:

The Centre is a supplier of systems & equipment to HAL aircraft and engine R&D Centres as well as other external customers. 

In addition to over 425 qualified/type approved LRUs for Indigenous/Licensor platforms (As on Aug’17), Centre has also made significant contribution to the space programme by way of indigenously designing and developing the hydraulic pump for their PSLV and GSLV project.

Patent/ IPR:
Various steps have been taken to protect Intellectual Property as well as to encourage its Engineers/Designers/Technologists through filling Patent/IPR. Cumulative 83 IPRs (67-Patent & 16-Copyright) are filed and one Copyright granted to the Centre as on Aug’17.

MoU with Academic Institutions:
Centre has MoU with leading academic institutions for collaborative technology development activities.

Test Equipment:
The Centre has capability to design, installation, commissioning and proving of Test Rigs for following systems:
  • ECS/Oxygen 
  • Hydraulics
  • Fuel
  • Electrical/Electronics 
The Centre has developed a wide range of test rigs & equipment for in-house and customer use as well as ground support equipment like ground power trolley, hydraulic trolley and power packs. 

Indigenization:
Indigenization of components, sub assemblies & consumables (like Rubber, seals, Fasteners, Electrical/ Electronic components etc.) of licenser as well as indigenous projects are also carried out by the Centre for manufacturing as well as repair/overhaul programs to cater following objectives:
  • Obsolescence
  • Substitution for high price items quoted by OEM
  • FE savings
  • Long term service support/Strategic
  • Product improvement using upgraded technology 
  • Alternate vendor development
Design & Test Infrastructure:
The Centre is fully equipped with the latest design, development and testing facilities to undertake the development of any hydro-mechanical, electrical or electronic system. These include:
  • High end 3D modelling software like Unigraphics Nx and IDEAS
  • Analysis software like ABAQUS, MATLAB and ADAMS. 
  • Use of OrCAD software for PCB design and analysis for electronic circuits.  
  • Well equipped Prototype Shop with state of art machines like CNC Turning and milling, Drilling and Cylindrical Grinding machines.
  • Functional / Life Test Facilities for Pneumatic LRUs, Cold Air Unit, Hydraulic LRUs, Pumps, Actuators, Wheel Strength & Fatigue, Engine Fuel System LRUs, Electrical System LRUs (AC&DC).
Environmental Lab for Qualification testing:
  • Mechanical Strength Test Facilities :(BS & MIL Standards)  e.g. Vibration, Acceleration, Shock
  • Environmental Test Facilities: (BS, MIL & JSS Standards) eg. Hot/ Cold /Altitude, Salt Fog, Sand & Dust, Humidity, Rain Drip, CATH (Combined Altitude Temperature & Humidity).

The Centre also has dedicated Design Quality Assurance Group which looks after following:
  • Approval and Certification with airworthiness authorities (CEMILAC /DGCA)
  • Renewal of Type Approval
  • Renewal of Lifing of Aircraft LRUs  
  • Defect Investigation and FRACA
  • Design Standards
  • Reliability and FMEA
  • Standardization of design documents
